What does your role entail?

Working behind the bar, making cocktails and taking orders. Greeting customers, serving food and beverages, and ensuring all customer needs are met. As well as working in the Set Bar and Cafe.

How did you get your start working in Cinemas?

I remember being a young girl, having my first Gold Class experience with my mother. I was so excited, I remember telling her that when I was old enough, I would be working in Gold Class, and I am.

Why do you LIKE working in Cinemas?

Being around such enthusiastic, energetic people.

What surprised you about working in a Cinema?

The ‘Behind-the-scenes’ operations that you don’t see as a patron.

What’s your career path looked like to date?

I started as a host in Gold Class, working my way up to the bar. Now I’ve branched out to other parts of the cinema as well, working in the Set Bar and Cafe, and on the Floor, keeping my weekly roster exciting, always working in different areas for each of my shifts.

During your time at this Cinema, what has been your proudest moment?

Taking charge to fix a problem that had arisen, directing my team members on what to do for a quick solution.

What has been your greatest professional achievement to date?

Moving through my training extremely quickly when I first started in Gold Class, and progressing on to higher roles quickly as a result.

Where do you wish to go from here?

I’d like to try out become a Gold Class Supervisor shortly.

What challenges do you face in this role?

It’s very time driven, and you have to work hard to meet timeframes, especially when it comes to food and beverages, keeping customers happy.

What message do you have to tell others about working in the Cinema/Entertainment industry?

Working for Event Cinemas has definitely been the best job I’ve had. There’s never a dull day with the people you work with, and its such a great atmosphere to be around.

What advice would you give to people considering a career in Cinemas?

Depending on what area you are looking to start in, you definitely need to find out the challenges you will face in that position and if you think you are capable to deal with them.

Tell us about one of your best Cinema experiences?

Just being around my great team of colleagues in Gold Class on a really busy night, working hard together to get the job done.
